The following is severe weather criteria that we ask all spotters to report to the National Weather Service.

  • Tornadoes

  • Waterspouts

  • Funnel Clouds

  • Wall Clouds

  • Wind greater than 58 MPH

  • Wind damage to homes / property (ie. if one loose shingle falls off the roof, the NWS doesn't need report)

  • Wind damage to trees, power lines, major power outages, etc.

  • Lightning Injuries or Deaths

  • Lightning damage to homes / property

  • Hail (Any Size)

  • Sleet

  • Freezing Rain

  • Flash Flooding

  • River Flooding

  • Coastal Flooding

  • Snow (first 2 inches then storm total)
